The name of this blog might be Mosaic a Day, but let me tell you, this was certainly not finished in one day. In fact, it took me three days of pretty painstaking work. But I have to say, I'm really pleased with the results. In fact, I think it could be the best pendant I've done to date. As such, I've gone a bit over board with the photos.
What you might not know is that any of those curves would look really wonky if any one of the pieces were out by the tiniest bit. And by tiniest bit I mean 0.5mm, or less than 1/32" for those folks on the Empirical system.
The large round cabochon near the middle is a glass piece made in Venice. I acquired it from a friend in Tucson. Designing the rest of the pendant based on the cabochon was a wonderfully enjoyable challenge. I have a few more from him, so when I've recovered from making this one, I'll attempt something similar.
