"Electric Jasper"- SOLD

5" by 7" - Jasper Cabochon, mosaic gold, Eco smalti

 

I got this cabochon at the SAMA conference last year, from the Mosaic Rock vendor table.  I knew when I grabbed it that I would do something like this with it, but I just hadn't figured it out perfectly, kind of like the cabochon that I used in "Gypsy Dance".  I debated doing the background in a red Travertino marble, but decided that would be too "same-y", so I went for the complementary color.  Luckily, in this case it has flecks of red in it, and so turned out to be the perfect choice.
