Warmth

20mm diamether - Mosaic gold in sterling silver
$165 USD

If there is one thing I hate, it's being cold. This is not a new thing, it's been since I was a child. I remember crawling onto the bathroom counter to soak my feet in hot water before going to bed, otherwise they would never get warm and I couldn't sleep. Not sure my folks knew about this practice of mine! And as an adult, I have Raynauds syndrome, where cold, particularly sudden cold, can make my fingertips go completely numb and painful, and take FOREVER to warm back up to normal. One time someone handed me an icy beer and an nearly screamed from the sudden pain. If I have to go digging around in a freezer, I have to put on oven mitts, or risk an episode. So it's no wonder I gravitate towards warmer climes than my native Canada!

On that note, I have arrived in sunny Australia and...it's going up to 40ºC/104ºF today, which is a bit too far on the other end of the temperature spectrum for me. However, the weather here isn't usually quite so grueling, and I'm looking forward to having a month and a half of relative warmth, while my country endures January and February—sorry guys!

Many of my scheduled workshops here in Australia have sold out, and most of the ones with space remaining are just a place or two away from being full, so if you've been hemming and hawing, get in while the getting's good!

Speaking of warmth, there are also places available in my Santorini Mosaic Workshops, taking place in June (Precision Mosaic Jewelry) and September (Shag Rug/Smalti Mosaics). Imagine spending a week soaking up Mediterranean sunshine, Greek hospitality, and island vibes all while learning a new mosaic technique! Expect loads of laughs, great food and parties, and a very warm welcome. Hope to greet you on my island later this year!
