Gerber Daisy Micromosaic
NFS
This piece isn't a new work of mine, it's a throwback to almost 14 years ago, when I took a micromosaic workshop at a mosaic conference, taught by the fabulous Antonella Gallenda of Orsoni smalti. Given my obsession with tiny things and small pieces, it's no wonder that I not only chose a fairly complex design, but also kept taking the most thread-like pieces of filati that I could find in the supplies. I didn't finish in the 8 hour workshop, but had to finish at home, which took another 5 hours.
However, despite this work being from years ago, I thought it was the perfect piece to announce my 2025 Australia teaching tour, which kicks off with a Filati Micromosaic Pendant workshop in Adelaide on January 31. I'm pleased to be going back to Australia, and truly thrilled to not only be teaching at some "old favourites" as well as some new venues, including stops in Melbourne, where I haven't taught in YEARS, and Tasmania, where I've never taught.
