Movement
I knew when I suddenly found myself unexpectedly back in Canada and as one by one every plan I had made for the year was postponed or cancelled, I would need something to focus on, and that something was probably best to be physical, or I risked depression. So, I started first working out indoors, and then once the Canadian weather permitted this cold-adverse woman to exercise out of doors, I began to run, and later, to cycle.
Thank goodness I did. I am now fitter than I have ever been in my 40s. I run a casual run faster than my race pace in my 20s. I'm impressed by how my body has done in less than 6 months. I've hiked 17.5km, run 260.5km, and cycled 372km. In total, I've moved my body 650km ! I've lost a bit of weight, which I won't complain about, though that was not the main goal.
Hopefully though, I've been at it long enough that it will be habit now, even as I head off to other places. I've always wanted to manage to incorporate more exercise into my life, and I think I have the habit formed that I can do so. Wish me luck on that, and on my flight, which is tomorrow!
