I've been experimenting with a new mosaic style that I like to call shag carpet.  I'm sure some mosaic artist/wordsmith will come up for the perfect technical "opus" for it.  For the non mosaic artists, there are a variety of mosaic "opera" that have fancy latin names; basically it boils down to how the pieces are laid.  Opus Shaggeum, perhaps?
