Ammolite Towers
Available for Purchase at Carrot Community Coffee House
I made this piece awhile ago, and just haven't gotten around to posting it. I'm fairly fond of it, for a couple of reasons. First, the "towers" are of ammolite, which is considered the gemstone of my province, Alberta. While it can be found elsewhere, such as Russia, none of it is as nice as the specimens found in Alberta. Nice specimens are almost as bright and color changing as dichroic glass. These two pieces are of pretty low quality, but a fellow gave them to me quite randomly because he knew I liked rocks. I also like that the background in this piece, while seemingly varied in colour, is in fact all the same kind of marble.
