"Golden Leaf" - SOLD

"4" by 8" - Mosaic gold, contorno smalti, marble rocks

I've been doing mostly abstract pieces for the daily mosaic, and so when out of ideas today, I decided to "mosaic what I know", and go figurative. I've often done natural mosaics in the past, and I've done a lot of leaves. This leaf is quite different though, despite being something I've done a lot of. I think I like it's almost crude formation, so very different from the precision I've often had in the past. The smaller substrate also allowed me to indulge in mosaic gold, an expensive habit of mine.
